Ada Jones made both cylinder and disc records for Edison, Columbia and Victor among others. Most of her solos and duets were recorded during the Ragtime period at the peak of her popularity. She was a master of dialects and used many of these to comic effect in her recordings. Some of the comic dialects used in her recordings were Irish, Italian and Minstrel. Her recording career continued until her passing. She died in Rocky Mount, N.C. on May 22, 1922 of kidney failure at the age of 49. This CD was made from original Edison cylinder recordings.
