Description: A rare and hard to find pair of antique bronze sculpture both signed by the French artist Armand Jules LeVeel ( France 1821- 1905 ). The first one : Titled to front of base “ Hugenot “, signed( A. LeVeel) to side of base, with Paillard foundry mark “VP”beneath crown front left of the base. And stamped 1662 to rear of base. ( 1662 is a casting number ) H : 22 1/2 inches ( 57 cm ) Base : 6 1/2 inches ( 16.5 cm ) square. Condition: missing top of lance The second one : Titled to front of base “ Ligueur” , signed ( A. LeVeel 1847 )to side of base, with Paillard foundry mark “VP” beneath crown front left of the base. And stamped 1663 to rear base. ( 1663 is a casting number ) H :22 1/2 inches ( 57 cm ) Base : 6 1/2 inches ( 16.5 cm ) square. Condition: missing a part of the sword. ”VP” for the foundry mark refer to Victor Paillard ( France 1805-1886 ).
