Description: Hand painted artisan ornaments inspired by the famous Beijing opera, a major Chinese artistic institution. These were created more recently. The masks are attached to traditional knotted red string art adorned with plastic disks that resemble jade. If I were to guess, these are probably 1990s when Beijing opera had a major resurgence which made these a popular token of Chinese culture. The masks themselves measure approx 1 inch. The entire ornaments average around 7 or 8.
