This weighs 12.30 CTS and has been cut into an oval shape. The measurements are approximately 13.2 x 10.9 x 7.2 mm. The stone has a very deep red color with slight undertones of purple. Under some lighting conditions the stone may appear almost black, but under most light sources it's true color is revealed. In the pictures white dots can be seen throughout the surface. These are actually bright sparkles and is more evident in the supplied video. The gem has a near perfect 6-ray star caused by asterism. This phenomenon causes a moving star of light to travel across the surface of the stone when exposed to a light source, either artificial or sunlight. The stone is in overall excellent condition with no damage on the face of the piece. There is some variations and indents on the underside of the gemstone as shown in pictures.
