He moved to the United States in 1973 after completing his medical training in both Pakistan and Scotland. A trained Pediatrician and Neonatologist, he relocating to North Dakota and started a thriving Pediatrics practice. In 1985 he moved to the Rio Grande Valley and started the Newborn ICU at Valley Baptist Medical Center, of which he was the also the director. As a neonatologist he specialized in caring for high risk infants. He understood the fragility of life much better than most and had an innate ability to find beauty in everything. He retired from medicine in 1998.
