From our understanding this was due to a shortage of 6 pin connectors, and to keep production going, an 8 pin connector was used to cap off the wires. When installing the factory LED lights, dealerships need to swap out the 8 pin for a 6 pin. So this issue could come up in some 2014 - 2015 models that were effected by the part shortage. In these cases, a pin out of the 8 pin connector may be required in order to install the lights using the standard 6 pin connector on these models that come with 8 pin connectors. If you need assistance you can search on how to do a connector pin out on youtube for assistance. Wire taps, butt connectors or soldering are also other options you can use to hook up the lights to models with 8 pin connectors. We also suggest checking to see if you have an 8 pin connector before purchase if you do not want to modify your wiring.
