Description: For the Baseball Hobbyist. . . 1992-1995 Megacards/The Sporting News Conlon Collection card #47 - George Herman "Babe" Ruth, 1934 New York Yankees | 1934 American League All-Star right fielder Very limited edition colorized edition Issued in 1995 by Megacards, Inc. and The Sporting News Publishing Company and recognized by collectors as a subset within the massive, near-3,000 card Conlon Collection issued 1981-1995, this card was generally found inserted within products such as plastic sheets and other card holders and consequently received widespread distribution among marginally serious collectors; consequently, it is a bit scarcer than might be expected.Cards #34 through #37 were issued in small quantities and generally distributed with Toys R Us products. Accordingly, many never made it into the collections of serious baseball hobbyists. Cards #38 and #39 and #40 through #47 also received very limited distribution. Cards #40 through #47 have been reported as "not issued" but, in reality, they were issued with collector pages in certain select areas, including the Pacific Northwest. Card size is the modern standard: 2-1/2 by 3-1/2 inches.Condition: Near-Mint or better - check the high-resolution scans, front and back. This is the actual card the buyer will receive. A burgundy background has been provided to assist in evaluating the card's corners and edges.
