It is one that might have been found on the side of one of General Grant’s Staff Officers or that might be seen on a Pentagon Officer of today. The hand-guard is polished brass with the letters “U.S.” centered in the design; the letters “U.S.”: are also found centered in the blade scrollwork etchings. The blade (not sharp) is finished in gun metal blue. A polished steel Scabbard with two belt rings make it perfect for reenactments or a hanging display.
