Description: Penn Antique Restoration 35.5"x84" Antique Front Entry Door 4 Windows w/ Wavy Glass & 3 Panels Handsome, antique, exterior door salvaged from an old home in Northeastern, PA. The door is made of solid Douglas fir or pine and is completely painted white. When most people hear "pine" they think of a cheap, weak, and soft wood. New pine hewn from 10 - 20 year old trees doesn't have the same insect-resistant, rot-resistant, or even fire-resistant qualities that old pine, hewn from trees hundreds of years old. Old pine is also much harder and stronger than young pine. The door has 4, true-divided windows (1 window has cracked glass) with old, wavy glass. There are 3 raised panels below the glass (on both sides). Hardware: The door is not equipped with any hardware. However, we have a good selection of period hardware to outfit it (check out our store). * If you would like any of the hardware holes plugged with solid wood, please email us for a quote. Uneven Width: The door's width was unevenly cut by 3/8". The cut was most likely made to compensate for a settling foundation or an old warped floor. We could cut the door to an even 35 1/4", cut it shorter or narrower, and we could also add wood to it to make it taller or wider to fit your opening--message us for a quote. Condition: The door is strong, sturdy, and in good structural condition. It only has nicks and scratches, but no broken or cracked joints, gouges, rot, warp, or any other serious issues. Most of the blemishes that it has will disappear after sanding, prior to refinishing or repainting, and whatever remains will be subtle, "character marks". Except for 1 cracked lite, all of the glass is intact and also in great condition with only subtle scratches. Swing: The door was installed using surface-mount hinges. This means the hinge-mortises were never cut out of the door, meaning you can install your hinges on either side. Modification: We could also modify this door to fit your opening or suite your needs. Trim or add to the height or width, replace glass with screen, reverse the swing, plug the hardware holes, etc. Email us with a small description of what you would like done, and we'll give you a quote.
