Description: This is a 26" rear wheel, 36 spokes, with an Alex Rims DA16 double wall rim and a Shimano Nexus SG-8R31 internally geared hub. The wheel is almost new, having been briefly mounted on a recumbent tadpole trike used for demo purposes at Amling's Cycle and Fitness in Niles Illinois (RIP). The wheel comes with the various extra parts shown on top of the McMaster Carr plastic bag. Some cyclists love internally geared hubs, preferring them to traditional derailleurs and cassette gears.Finding these hubs already built up into wheels in new or near-new condition can be difficult. This wheel is not strictly speaking new, but it is extremely close, having been used on a demonstration recumbent trike at a now-closed shop. It has likely gone around the block a few times at most.
