Description: MUONG NONG TEKTITE: Location: Thailand Shape: Blocky Weight: 24.91 grams Quality: Pristine (no chips) Moung Nong tektites are a type of tektite, which are naturally occurring glass formed by the impact of a meteorite on the Earth's surface. They are named after the area in Laos where they are primarily found. Moung Nong tektites differ from other tektites in their shape and appearance. They have a distinctive layered structure, with the outer layer being dark in color and the inner layer being a light green or yellow color. This gives them a unique appearance compared to other tektites which tend to be more homogeneous in color. Additionally, Moung Nong tektites are known for their large size and irregular shape, which is also different from the more typical spherical or aerodynamic shape of other tektites. Moung Nong tektites are primarily found in the central plain of Laos, Southeast Asia. The exact location of the discovery site is in the vicinity of the village of Ban Chiang in the province of Udon Thani, Thailand, near the border with Laos. The area is well known for producing some of the largest and most unusual tektites in the world, and the Moung Nong tektites are among the most distinctive and sought-after examples of this natural phenomenon. — All of my tektites are guarantied authentic and each specimen will always include an individual certificate of authenticity/provenance card. ** 1CM Cube in photos is NOT included and is there for visual size reference only.
