Description: This early, very rare, unused, original paper measures an unusual 26 inches wide by 24 feet (8 yards) long. It is probably 1920s / early 30s and features the most amazing group of antique toys, kids, and dogs. These are the types of toys you would have found in old toy stores and under the Christmas tree. You can recognize period tin toys, antique footballs, German clowns, soldiers, antique dolls, circus figures, cars, trains, rocking horses, vintage pull toys etc. The multicolor printing is unusual as well. There is small "Charles W. Williams and Co." mark on edge. It is a very common name, but my research finally found mention of this company in the history page of paper supplier and an obituary of an employee. It seems the company was likely established in 1919, was located in Brooklyn, and specifically made paper for boxes. This is exactly the type pf paper you would find on an antique gift or store box. (I actually bought this partial roll in NYC years ago from an antique dealer.) The very wide paper is in good, vintage condition with minor edge discoloration/wear about 1" in on sides as it stood on its ends for almost 100 years. There are occasional printing flaws/ink marks. Please see photos for scale and typical condition. I have a couple lots available at time of listing. There is a ruler in some photos. *Please note this in thinner, very old, antique paper that needs to be handled gently. It is thinner as it was intended for wrapping boxes. This paper ships rolled. This will ship FREE in an oversized Priority Mail tube. This is a large amount of paper (about 50 square feet.) It would be perfect for wrapping gift boxes under an old fashioned tree. It would also be good to use in scrapbooking, journaling, Christmas crafts, or covering your own boxes!Thank you! :)
