Description: Note: these are actually about 19.3 mm wide, so in a 20 mm lugs, there’ll be a small gap & squeezed into 18 mm lugs, you’ll get a small “crimp” at the lugs. I call these the "Rust Bond". I hand-dyed a small batch of these in a large pot over a flaming stove, so there are some variations in color that gives them a worn-in vintage look. The dyeing process over the stove gave them a more muted, visually cohesive appearance, but with the comfort & smoothness of an updated SEATBELT material. As far as seatbelt nylon material goes, it's on the thinner side (~ 1 mm). I think the thinner material works better in line with the worn-in vintage theme. I have worn thicker nylon watch straps (~1.4 mm) before and I find this thinner material to be more comfortable. The 1mm material feels light weight, flexible & silky smooth. They are also quicker drying, contributing to their comfort when worn running, working out, or just generally moving about in hot & humid conditions, etc. When making this batch, I threw in one of my own 1.4 mm thick strap with the batch. The next morning, the 1.4 mm was still soaking wet, while these thinner straps felt almost completely dry. For my own sample, I prefer to cut off the retaining loop & wear it as a 1-layer strap.See all photos.Materials:Brushed stainless steel hardware.Seat-belt nylonDimensions:thickness, ~ 1 mmtotal length, 11 5/8 in.length to first hole, 6 1/2 in.length to last hole, 9 3/4 in.To make it into a 1-layer single-pass:Cut at least 1/8 in. away from stitching to leave enough fabric for the stitching to grab onto.I prefer to leave the cut edge "soft" (not melting it with a lighter). ///
