Description: 2024 SARRACENIA SEEDS: GOLDEN RED JUBILEE X PURP VENOSA (TATTNALL) [CARNIVOROUS PLANT SEED] Code: 336: 24HP04 This listing includes: One pack of approximately 30 Sarracenia seeds from the following cross: Mother (pod) plant: S. ‘Golden Red Jubilee’ (jonesii x alabamensis) An older cultivar by John Hummer. Has amazing golden colored tubes and lids. Once colored up, red venation develops and then has a bleeding effect in between the veins. The red brilliantly contrasts with the golden color. Strong fall growth and oversized lids. Father (pollen) plant: S. purpurea venosa (Tattnall County, GA) One of the best and most attractive purpurea I have ever owned. Attractive, oversized, wavy lids. Pitchers are round and perfectly tubby. They start orante with amazing venation and contrast and then darken up as the weather cools in fall and winter. An extremely attractive plant. 1st picture shows the two parent plants. 2nd picture shows the mother (pod) parent. 3rd picture shows the father (pollen) parent. 4th picture shows an example of the seeds you will get (not the quantity). 5th picture shows an example of how I bag my Sarracenia flowers in the spring. This cross was made in the Spring of 2024 and the seeds were harvested when ripe later in the same year. The cross was done carefully by hand. All manual crosses had bagged flowers to avoid any unwanted pollen contamination by nature. After harvest and drying, the seeds have been stored dry in the fridge to maximize longevity and viability. These seeds have NOT been stratified. You will need to do that yourself.
