2012 Steve Prefontaine Bobblehead in Orig. Box Baseball Stadium Give-Away, RARE!

Description: >Offered here is an old and original 2012 STEVE PREFONTAINE bobblehead, sometimes also referred to as a bobble head or nodder!! Please see all eleven (11) photos, as they are an important part of my description, and please read the "item condition" below for further details. This bobble head (complete with original box and packaging) was made available here in Eugene, Oregon during the summer of 2012 at a Eugene Emeralds minor league baseball game; the first 500 or 1,000 game attendees (can't remember which) received a bobblehead upon entering PK Park. The bobblehead features legendary University of Oregon Ducks distance runner Steve Prefontaine wearing his 1972 Munich Olympics USA uniform. A local television station and the local Pepsi-Cola bottler were also a part of this baseball game giveaway promotion (see bobblehead's base). The nodder's facial likeness to "Pre" is extremely realistic, complete with his flowing hair! This Steve Prefontaine vintage bobblehead accompanied by the original box and packaging rarely comes up for sale anymore, due to most examples now residing in private collections (or kids playing with them and trashing them!)...so, don't let this one slip through your fingers! <>Condition: I have handled a few of these Pre bobbleheads over the years, since they were made available locally here in Eugene; almost all have exhibited either hairline cracks or major cracks in the same leg that the bobble head is perched on and is a FACTORY FLAW (obviously due to the weight on only one leg). Many of these Pre bobbleheads have exhibited multiple cracks. This particular example exhibits one lone hair-line crack in the ankle area (rather than the larger cracks that are commonly present) and is one of the nicer Prefontaine bobbers I have handled! The leg crack is repairable, with resin or something similar; one could even repaint the resin with similar flesh-colored paint if one chose to do so! With that being said, the overall condition is fine otherwise and this example is accompanied by the original box and packaging materials!
