2" x 48" BELT GRINDER KIT

Description: The machine is dedicated to the 56C type motor flange, 1.875 " usable spindle length.The diagonal distance between the holes on the face of the motor is 5-7/8" (56C type). I recommend using 1.5-2HP motor (5/8" dia shaft, 3/16" keyway) with 2 capacitors, TEFC, 3450/3600rpm. (pic. 1). Before start assembling remove the lip of the motor using an angle grinder (pic. 1).For safety drill and tap a hole (dia 1/4"-20 x 1" deep) on the shaft of the motor for the stop washer provided-(pic.2) The surface speed of the belt is 4710 feet/min. (3600 rot/min.). The tool has a drive wheel 5" and guide 4" Baseplate not included. INSTRUCTIONS (see pictures) 1. Attach the main vertical plate to the motor using the provided bolts-(pic.4-5) 2. Attach the lower wheel assembly (5" wheel - 5/8" hole, keyway key, set screw and stop washer) to the motor leaving 1/8" gap between wheel and main vertical plate (pic. 6-7-8-9). 3. Attach the tool post assy. to the main vertical plate (must be on the left face of the plate). Inside of the tube is the compression spring (pic. 10-11-12). 4. Attach the upper wheel assy. (4" wheel) to the tool post (pic. 13-14). 5. Align the upper wheel to the lower wheel using a straight edge and tighten the set screw already installed on the rod of the tool post. (pic. 15). 5. Install the guard assy. (pic. 16-17-18). 6. Install the platen (pic. 19-20). 7. Install the table assy. (pic. 21-22). 8. Install the belt. PS. Belt-not-included.
