Description: 2 Keokuk, IA Postcards 1913 Scene Rand Park, 1915 Chief Keokuk Monument posted These cards were sent to my late grandmother in Montrose by friends in Keokuk. The first card, "Scene in Rand Park, Keokuk, IA.," has a one cent stamp canceled October 20, 1913, in Wever, Iowa.The second card, "Chief Keokuk Monument, Rand Park, Keokuk, IA" has a one cent stamp canceled May 8, 1915 in Keokuk, Iowa. Both cards have normal handling wear to edges and corners, and light surface soiling. Yellowing to card stock. The Chief Keokuk monument has me a bit puzzled. According to what I can find online, the monument was topped with a statue by Nellie Walker in 1913. I am guessing that the monument pictured here is an earlier iteration, and the top was removed to make way for the statue. I will ship as soon as I receive payment.
