Description: 2 Antique Optic Iridescent Chalice-Shaped Wine Glasses Goblets UV Reactive (Bryce) Looking for something unusual, beautiful, sustainable and very vintage while sharing a glass of wine? Something with a bit of history, maybe? These two beauties have stood the test of time! These two lovely wine goblets have a comfortable to hold smooth stem, and a rounded, chalice-shaped bowl with a flared edge. They have an optic fluting with a bit of swirl to it for a nice shimmer, and a delicate, soap-bubble like iridescence. And - they are manganese glass, which helps date them. The element manganese, which glows green under 365nm black light, was used to create a brilliant clarity in turn of the century crystal. It was diverted for war use during WWI, and is generally not used in glass produced after 1915, though some was made containing scrap glass later on, to about 1926. This means these delightful glasses are likely about a century old! Manganese glass is considered completely safe to use. But If you are a uranium glass collector, collecting for the glow, don't sleep on the manganese - it's beautiful in the (365nm) black light display cabinet, too! Blown glass, and are likely made by Bryce; they produced other pre-war goblets with this chalice shape. Very good vintage/antique condition; one has no defects, the other has a hard to detect defect to the rim, filed smooth, which causes a small dip. Still perfectly presentable, but please look carefully at the circled areas on the photos to make sure it is acceptable to you. No major chips or cracks, light wear as commensurate with age. Clean, hand washed and ready to use. The photos make them look cloudy; in person they aren't, it's the light bouncing off the iridescent coating. Shipped quickly and packed with great care.
