Juliana Horatia Ewing was a writer of children's books with insights into religion and family life. These two books are Dandelion Clocks and Other Tales, and The Story of a Short Life. Both show their age, but both are complete - no pages missing and nearly all still bound. Both have degraded and/or missing spines. Specifics - 1) Short Life - frontispiece and first blank page detached, light pencil markings inside front cover, 82 solid pages following detached page, numerous B&W illustrations. 2) Dandelion - 1891 inscription present, no other markings in 55 pages plus one page of ads. Unlike Short Life, many of the illustrations in this book have color. The color looks almost hand painted outside the lines in water color. The books are being stored wrapped in shrink wrap to preserve their current condition.
