Description: 1st Illustrated TP Edition Ragtime by EL Doctorow! In Slipcase!. Here is a wonderful edition of one of my favorite books that I didn’t even know existed until I stumbled across it in one of my favorite bookshops. This is Ragtime by E.L. Doctorow. This is a first illustrated trade paperback edition in a slipcase published by Bantam Books in July of 1976. This book has some issues as the photos will attest to. Even so, I enjoyed have it on my shelves for years. The binding of the book is square and tight and immaculate throughout. The covers are clean but with scrapes and a tape repair to the front one and a partial tear down the spine. The rear panel is really rather nice as shown. The spine of the book has many creases but the title, author, and publisher’s logo is still quite nice. The illustrations were done by Carol Yeh. A previous owner named Sophie has personalized it on a white label on the inside front cover and placed another blank on on the inside rear cover. The slipcase while intact and strong has a few issues of it’s own. The remaining photos will illustrate nicely what I mean as well as providing two examples of the artwork.
