Description: * 1st Edition - 1st Printing * Spirit of Mediterranean Placesby Michel Butor You are bidding on an almost perfectly pristine copy of "The Spirit of Mediterranean Places by Michel Butor (1986). It has an interesting provenance. A good friend worked as a research librarian in a nationwide system used by colleges and other places of higher education. Publishers and authors would send a copy to her office, in an effort to get it into the research system as quickly as possible. Most of these books were "pre-release" copies or VERY first printings. When she passed suddenly, her office was simply packed up with what was her collection of first editions. Her husband kept them in very nice, turn-of-the-century bookshelves with glass doors keeping out the dust. This is a first edition, as indicated by it's ISBN. It has been stored in a environmentally controlled area since 1999. As a non-professional, I've rated it "Near Mint", simply because of the bent corner. The "spray discoloration" on the top of the pages is of unknown origin, as none of the other books have this same marking.
