19th Century Brass Banded Rosewood Calamander Tea Caddy w/ Compartments

Description: High end English 19th Century Brass Banded Calamander Wood Tea Caddy with dual Compartments. Amazing detailed calamander wood throughout with two compartments made of birch wood with a satin finish. Each compartment has a brass tag, one with the initial B for Black tea and one with the initial G for Green tea. There are remnants of silver tea paper in the interior of both. Both compartments are in exceptional condition with no nicks, dings or repairs and they retail their original internal hinges with a small screw at each end. The body of the tea caddy is also in excellent condition with no nicks, dings or repairs with the exception of two tiny veneer chips on the far corner edge. Also one small veneer chip (less than 1/2") on the front bottom left side and one at the back of the caddy of 3/4". There are also a few non structural hairlines on the top and none on the back. Overall, these are very minor issues. A rare survivor in this type of wood. A fine addition to any home or collection! Shipping is FREE in the Continental USA.
