1998 MGM Golden Hollywood Barbie Limited Edition designed for F.A.O Schwarz NRFB

Description: This doll is preowned and the box is NOT in brand new condition. There are flaws with the box. Some of these flaws will be detailed down below. The doll is inside the Barbie packaging. The paperwork and accessories that are included with this doll should be inside of the box as well. This Golden Hollywood Barbie was designed for F.A.O Schwarz and is commemorating 75 years of MGM as of the time of manufacture. This doll has a date of 1998. (Please see the following attached photos for visuals of this information: #1, #5, #6, #7, #8, #9, #10, #14 & #15.) The packaging surrounding the Barbie is of an art deco type design in the colors of black and gold. The dress and jacket the doll wears is made of a sparkly gold fabric with rope-like accents, a few sequins and other additions to help enhance the doll's gown. The doll is also wearing a choker necklace, black and gold earrings, a ring, a feathered head ornament, shoes and a feathered fan. (Please see attached photo #15 for a visual of the list of contents.) Inside the lid of the packaging are a few words about MGM. On the bottom of these words and on the back of the package is a symbol that says "The Golden Hollywood MGM Collection". The symbol also has a very art deco type design as well. (Please see attached photos #6, #7, #8 & #9 for visuals of this symbol and the text.) Condition of the doll and box: (Also please see the attached photos for visuals of the condition of these items.) The Barbie doll: when looking through the clear plastic of the packaging appears to be in very good condition. The doll was not removed from the packaging for inspection. The packaging: (These flaws include all of the packaging from the section that contains the doll as well as the lid. Please note that there are signs of wear and tear damage throughout the entirety of the packaging. ) Inside the interior of the packaging there is some damage to the inner cardboard on one of the edges. (Please see attached photos #1 & #3 for visuals of these flaws.) There is very visible scratching, scuffing and staining/discoloration throughout the packaging. Some of the scratching and scuffing wear and tear damage has resulted in a loss of color on various areas throughout the packaging. There is very visible creasing, bending and "wrinkling" or crushing of the cardboard in various areas throughout the packaging. (Please see the following attached photos for visuals of these flaws: #5, #6, #11, #12, #13, #14, #18, #19, #20 & #21.) There is very visible wear and tear damage to the edges of the packaging. This includes the corners, top, bottom and sides of the packaging. The clear plastic over the doll also has visible scratching and scuffing damage. The interior "flap" of the box is held in by three cardboard tabs on the top, bottom and one of the sides. These cardboard tabs have become worn and bent and don't hold the flap inside very well. When taking the lid off the box or when holding the lid at a certain angle, the flap will want to come out. (Please see the following attached photos for visuals of the damaged cardboard tabs: #16, #17 & #18.) There is also some tearing of the cardboard in various places of the packaging. As for the interior paperwork and accessories. As the packaging has not been opened, it will be difficult to guess at the condition of these items. The colors while still vibrant, have faded with both time and air exposure. Even with the above mentioned flaws, this Barbie doll would be a great addition to any Barbie, art deco, or MGM collection.
