Cobra Air Devils are the front line stealth assault air commandos of the Cobra legions. Highly trained in unorthodox combat styles and plain dirty-fighting, their mission is to penetrate deep behind G.I. Joe lines to wreak havoc amid the the support units and supply lines. Lightly armed to save weight and increase their gliding range, Air Devils are expected to procure heavier weapons and ammunition for anybody they can sneak up behind and overcome. These guys receive a cursory three day glider training course---just enough to enable them to get to their targets. Standard issue includes air-to-surface cluster grenades, infrared, anti-fog goggles and deflector face shield, and sized-to-fit grabber gloves and pressure-proof uniform. "The code of the Air Devils pretty much sums up how dangerous they are: 'Never fight in the open when you can ambush from cover; never ambush from cover when you can set a well-hidden, explosive booby trap.' These guys are sneaky, underhanded, and down-right mean.....not the type of people you want landing on your head from out of a plane!" AIR COMMANDO GLIDER The glider still has vibrant colors and the writing and symbols have not worn off. Nothing has been glued and nothing appears to be torn. The Air Commandos Glider can be used to soar at about ninety miles per hour, though this is rarely along a horizontal path. This is because, like all gliders, the Air Commandos Glider loses three stories of altitude for each six areas traveled forward. Of course, the wielder of the glider can maintain (or gain) altitude by using thermals. The glider itself is a long, wide affair, covered in one of two basic camouflage patterns - this one being black and green, with red trim and Cobra logos here and there. Also, like its Joe counterpart, the Air Devil is equipped with two rapid-fire, 30mm cannons in the control rig that can be fired to inflict excellent damage per deadly burst - but have only a few turns worth of ammunition. Furthermore, the glider's harness is constructed so that the pilot can fly it one handed, and fire a personal weapon with his other hand, however.
