Description: 1979 Gibson Les Paul Custom Black Beauty with 1980 Seymour Duncan Pickups - Push/Pull Pot Neck Split Coils - Push/Pull Pot Bridge - Pickups Out of Phase for Peter Greene Blues Tone This is a Vintage 1979 Gibson Les Paul Custom Black Beauty with Custom wired 1980 Seymour Duncan Pickups. Pushed in the Duncan Distortion Pickup and Jeff Beck Pickup are Normal Hard Rock Humbuckers. Neck Pot Pulled Out the Duncan Pickup Coils are split fir a cleaner tone. Bridge Pot Pulled Out outs the pickups Out of Phase for that unique haunting Peter Greene Blues Tone. All of the custom wiring of the 1980 Seymour Duncan Humbucker Pickups and Push/Pull Pots were done by Fretnot Music in Hiram, GA., the best guitar tech in the Southeast. He sets up all of Billy Gibbons guitars when he plays in this area. This Gibson Les Paul Custom has minimal light scratches on front and the mirror black back has no buckle scratches at all. The white binding has turned a vintage cream color, which is common. The Ebony Wood Fretboard has the Acrylic Pearl Block Inlays on the Custom Les Pauls. I am the ONLY OWNER of this Gibson Les Paul Custom for 43 years. This was my main Rock'n'Roll Guitar for 20 years, until I used a Gretsch Malcolm Young Signature in an AC⚡️DC Tribute Band for 10 years. I also still have the Original 1979 Gibson Humbucker Pickups, but I was never impressed with them. The early 1980 Seymour Duncan JB Bridge Pickup is very hot with an excellent warm Rock Tone by itself. The Seymour Duncan Neck Pickup is very warm in tone. Out of Phase with the Neck & Bridge Pickups, you get the most sought after Peter Greene and Jimmy Page haunting Blues Tone. This Gibson Les Paul Custom Black Beauty manufactured in the old Kalamazoo, Michigan Plant is very heavy, weighing in at 11 pounds and 5 ounces for the best sustain of any guitar that I have ever owned. This is why I held on to it for 43+ years. Several people have asked if I have the Original Gibson Humbucker Pickups. Yes I do, they are both Gibson Pat. No. 2,737,842 Humbuckers. One pickup is dated OCT 1979 (Bridge). One pickup has no date (Neck), which is common. Both pickips have Black Bobbins. Both pickups have the original Chrome Pickup Covers, which matches the Gibson Les Paul Custom hardware. (See the 2 Photos Added) I replaced the crappy and hated late 1970's Gibson Plastic Chainsaw Case with a Top-of-the-line $300 Gibson Les Paul TKL Black Tolex Case with Burgandy Red Interior many years ago. This Gibson Les Paul Custom comes in this TKL case. The case comes with some Vintage Gear Decals which can be easily removed. ***This Gibson Les Paul Custom Black Beauty is SOLD-AS-IS with NO RETURNS, as I am retired from the Rock Music Industry. It's time for a younger musician to enjoy playing my prized Gibson Les Paul Custom. The Buyer pays for all Shipping, Packaging, Handling and Insurance Costs.
