Description: This tractor trailer was previously listed. I had picked it up at an estate sale and was told that it was a 1975 model. Another EBay customer had saw my listing and reached out to educate me on the difference between the 1975 and 1976 models. THIS IS THE 1976 MODEL!! I thank him again for this shared knowledge. This is a 1976 Tractor and Hess Box Truck. It’s a Type-4 with 77 Front Cargo Box. It doesn’t say anything on the box so I’m not quite sure what that means. I think it has to do with the style of trailer and how it’s set up inside. There are 3 small barrels also inside the trailer as additional cargo with the Hess white and yellow logo on them and a unique compartment that holds a size D battery which when toggled on from underneath lights up the truck and trailer lights. This truck is a rare find and almost 50 years old. A special find for the collector of vintage gas and oil advertising items. The 1976 truck model is darker in color than the 1975 model and features the Hess brand name, making it a great addition to any collection. The item is original and was manufactured in Hong Kong. Purchased from the previous owner, I have it listed as used because the older gentleman had it on display and the boxes have a few tape marks on them. The truck is pre-1980 and has not been modified, making it a great find for those seeking a piece of history. The California Prop 65 Warning does not apply to this item as far as I know. This 1976 Hess Truck is perfect for display or as a conversation piece, and would make a great gift for any collector or history enthusiast.
