This indicates this knife was hand made in the 4th quarter of 1971 at Puma Werks in Solingen, Germany. The handles are genuine stag with three brass rivets. The handle also have a brass lined lanyard hole. The blade was made from German Pumaster high carbon steel. The knife measures 9 1/2" overall with a 6 1/2" blade. The knife also comes with a genuine Puma tan leather sheath. The blade is etched with: 6396 HANDMADE - Original Puma Bowie - GENUINE PUMASTER STEEL GERMANY.The knife comes in the factory green and yellow box with the factory gold guarantee control date tag. This Puma knife was hand made in Solingen Germany at Puma Werks. Puma makes one of the highest quality knives made. The knife includes the "Puma Proof Mark" on the blade: a small dot or ping on the blade was made with a diamond pointed needle. This is part of the Rockwell blade quality testing.
