1970’s Peugeot PX10 Reynolds 531 Frame & Fork, Bottom Bracket Headset, 63cm

Description: Peugeot PX10 Frameset! Paint, chrome, and decals in good condition! Reynolds 531 tubing and measures 63cm c-c with a 61cm top tube. 127.5mm rear spacing to fit either a 126 or 130 rear wheel. Includes the original Bottom Bracket, Headset, Mafac Cable Hanger... Note that these had a rear derailleur designed to specifically be used for a simplex derailleur (no threading) but there are work arounds for that if you wish to build it out differently. I've dated this frame somewhere between 1973 and 1976... spent hours down the rabbit hole to date the precise year and it seems more complicated than simply looking at the serial number (6120286). Typically, the first digit of 6 would indicate 1976 (described on the site 'bikeboompeugeot.com' - serial numbers & dates), however the original paperwork was destroyed by flooding from Hurricane Idalia last year and my friend the original owner recalls this as a 1973. It's also been documented that the serial number does not always match to the year, and on various Peugeot and Vintage Bike forums I've chat with others who have first-hand experience with this exact frame purchased in 1974.
