Description: Very nice early first year 1973 Gibson L5S. Original sunburst finish. Original tuners , bridge and L5S tailpiece. No breaks or repairs. Small crack in wood across bridge pickup mount hole. (See last picture). The guitar has verious minor dings, dents, scratches some thin beltbuckle rash and imperfections from use in over it’s 60 years but is in very good condition for it’s age! Some ware through finish mainly on the bottom edge of the neck. (Feel free to ask for closeup pictures of the dings, scratches and ware through finish). The guitar is in very good condition for its age! Very impressive flame maple wood especially on the back of the neck! The guitar has been modified to except mini Dimarzio humbucking pickups with some extra wood added under the pickups ( no wood was routed out from the original factory routes and it appears this wood could be easily removed by a tech). . I put gold plastic P90 dogear pickup covers over the pickups and the black plastic rings with give it a nice all gold look! The guitar plays and sounds great although the frets have ware and divots ( please see pictures of fingerboar) and the Jack is a bit finicky). The neck is straight. The pots and electronics have been changed. Original Gibson purple lined case in good condition for its age but missing handle and some covering and a very slight ding on the very tip. Feel free to ask questions or for more picture. Thanks for looking!
