Description: I'm listing a 1967 Polaris Japan made snare drum. The color is red sparkle. it has (8) lugs with Slingerland style copied hoops. The shell is thin Luan with maple reinforcement rings. Strainer is the mid 60's circle design Japan used. Heads are original as are the snare wires. Original Muffler works fine. Overall, chrome is presentable showing light rust & scratches on hoops & flats of lugs Tension rods have surface rust. Wrap is bright & in excellent condition. No lifting, tears or discolor. Throw-off works & releases the snares, but in honesty, not the best design for dialing in a specific tension .Inside shows extra clean and sports a thin wall shell with maple re-rings . Drum sounds warm, with a nice cross stick sound. Perhaps due to the copied heavier Slingerland style hoops This was a as is attic find.& I is in found original condition .
