In the mid 1960's he turned his focus to the female nude and female beauty in general utilizing both still images and motion picture film. His work is often compared to British photographer Sam Haskins a contemporary of Paine's from whom he undoubtably drew inspiration. Later in life he retired from photography to concentrate on sculpture, Hatha yoga and eventually became a spiritual teacher and author. Paine died in Santa Fe, New Mexico in 1987.
