Description: For sale is a very moving oil painting of one of the Biblical scenes of the 14 Stations of the Cross. The painting features a scene from the 11th station when Jesus is being nailed to the cross. "You are stretched out on the cross you have carried so far. The soldiers take big nails and drive them into your hands and feet. You feel abandoned by the people you loved so much. People seem to have gone mad. You have done nothing but good, yet they drive nails through your hands and feet." The painting is unsigned and was part of a large series of Stations of the Cross paintings. The painting was acquired from a Hudson Valley NY estate, but were said to have come from the Midwest in the Chicago area at one point many years ago. Painted on canvas board by National Card Mat & Board Co, of Chicago and Los Angeles. Condition: The painting in overall good condition. The edges with wear from frame contact from a previous frame. Other good with only age appropriate wear. Measurements: 40" x 30" Unframed Great standard size painting
