It had trackage in Idaho, Minnesota, Montana, North Dakota, Oregon, Washington and Wisconsin in the US, plus Manitoba and British Columbia in Canada. The NP operated several famous "named" trains, to include the North Coast Limited (between Chicago and Seattle), and the Mainstreeter. The NP merged with three other railroads in 1970 to form the Burlington Northern and ceased to exist as a corporate entity. For auction is a rule book from the NP entitled "Agreement Between the Northern Pacific Railway Company and System Federation No. 7, Railway Employees' Department, AF of L". It is dated July 1, 1955. The rule book measures appx 6 3/4 x 4 1/4 inches and contains 95 pages. The cover is a very heavy-duty press-ply cardstock, and the content pages are a medium-quality paperstock. The binding is with metal screw-posts, so pages can be removed or inserted when changes applied. This rule book appears to have had little if any use and is in excellent condition, even though it is now over 55 years old. There are no rips, tears, writing, markings, spills or smears, and the binding is secure with all pages firmly in place. A great collectible item for the NP railfan. Pictures sell!
