Description: DESCRIPTIONOEM 1955 Chevrolet Impala Bel Air 150 210 PowerPak 265-4 Barrel Oil Bath Air Cleaner. This piece has been finished in the correct semi-gloss black finish to present a period correct image. The recessed oval snorkel is in nice condition and complements the starburst top nicely. The base is very clean and correct for the 55 models.The exterior features a GM licensed reproduction red and blue heavy duty Air Cleaner Service Decal correct for the era. The base is clean and presents well, allowing the "OIL LEVEL" marker to clearly be seen. The oil bath "spaceship" stands clean; it has been serviced comes with a replacement oil bath to base gasket. The base will only fit OEM carburetors with the 4 1/8" flange (Rochester 4GC, WCFB, Carter AFB); it will not fit more modern versions like Edelbrock/Holley/Carter AVS). The snorkel is correct for the 55, measuring 5 1/4" in length from the base of the top to the end of the snorkel. The interior plate is no longer there, but the spot weld remarks remain on the outside top that provides a period correct detail. The assembly includes a wing nut to make installation more complete.This assembly presents well and will enhance your restoration. Best of all, it is an ultra-rare unit made from genuine GM parts!
