Description: This is a small Ganado Style Navajo rug, purchased in the 1950's on the Navajo Reservation. It is handwoven from handspun wool in natural wool colors. The red color was created with red aniline dye. It was designed with 3 stacked diamond shapes in red, black and white that are bordered in alternating bands of white, brown, black, and white triangles. The ends are finished with alternating bands of red, black, and white color. The rug is in fair condition. It is stretched in some areas with fraying and some fading.
