These movable ice cream and soft drink stand invaded the three centuries old privacy of the squirrels, pigeons and bench sitters on Boston Common today (July 13). State Senator Edward Rawe of Cambridge said he founded the business a moth ago. Three stands have already been placed in the Common, this one is near Tremont street. Mayor James Curley said the stands were "absolutely legal" as along as they were mobile and no alcoholic beverages were sold. Photo measures 9.25 x 7.25 inches. Photo is dated 7-13-1948.
