Description: This is a rare and valuable 1948 Bowman #5 trading card featuring the legendary baseball player, Bob Feller. As a rookie, the "Heater from Van Meter" pitched for the Cleveland Indians and later went on to become a Hall of Fame inductee. This card is freshly graded and is certified by SGC. The card is in condition and features a beautiful black and white photo of "Bullet Bob." For his 18-year major-league career, "Rapid Robert" won 266 games against 162 losses. At 6 feet tall and 185 pounds, he was on the short side for a right-handed pitcher by contemporary standards. Both Ted Williams and Joe DiMaggio labeled him the greatest pitcher either had ever seen. Although he lost almost four full seasons to service in World War II during the prime of his career, he still led the American League in victories six times and in strikeouts seven times. With his three no-hitters, 12 one-hitters, 279 complete games, and 44 shutouts, he was the dominant pitcher of his generation and one of the greatest of all time. Feller was inducted into Baseball's Hall of Fame in 1962, his first year of eligibility, receiving 150 of 160 votes.
