The Card served as a solicitation by the United China Relief Inc (NY, NY) asking for donations to assist the children left Hungy, Afraid, and Orphans as a result of the full out War that commenced with Japan's invasion of Manchuria in 1931. It was a conflict that had as its basis control of raw materials to be used in Japan's growing Industries. The Conflict is considered as part of the World War II historical landscape and an underlying basis for its expansion into Asia.
