Description: This wonderful picture collage salutes Babe Ruth who in 1934 traveled as part of a 14 man team made up of major leagurers to Japan for a series of 23 exhibition games against Japan's best teams. He batted .408 and hit 13 homers. The collage features the First Day Cover of the stamp issued to honor baseball whose envelope has been dedicated to Babe Ruth's performance during that trip. On the day a stamp is issued, it is only available in the city where it is issued and the Post Office certifies this by canceling the stamp “First Day of Issue.” The size of this matted picture is 8" x 10" and will fit any 8" x 10" inch frame. (a standard size). I make all these collages by hand. As a history buff as well as a lover of old movies and all types of sports, the key to each picture is the research behind it. Deciding what movies should go with a particular star or what game or series would best reflect a certain sports hero is crucial to a successful collage.
