Description: This great 1931 University of Washington Tyee Annual was a walk down memory lane for me both as a 1970 graduate of the U.W. but also by seeing the names of of many 1931 graduates who later came to shape Seattle as we know it. I even came across the name of the doctor that signed my birth certificate (UW Football Star Clearance "Rebel" Bledsoe). It also includes the legendary coaches "Hec" Edmundson, "Tubby" Graves and the amazing Al Ulbrickson who coached "The Boys in the Boat" crew team that won the 1936 Olympics in Berlin. Their 1930 win over the University of California Bears is both illustrated and described in this Annual. This 1931 Tyee is 436 pages long and has an advertising section of local businesses most of which are long gone and some more recently like Frederick and Nelson, Malmo's Nursery, John Graham (Architect and Engineer), The Olympic Hotel, J.C.
