Description: 1923 Zeenut (PCL) -EUGENE "GENE" VALLA (San Francisco Seals). The Zeenut series of cards was produced every year by the Collins Candy Co from 1911 to 1938, each set contained somewhere between 48 to nearly 200 cards and includes many players that were both future or former Major League players. The 1923 set is a popular one and the last to have the background cut away. Beginning in 1924 they left the background in place and it tends to make many of the sets look the same.
