Μακρής, εν Αθήναις 1923, σελ. 246 +2. Χάρτινα εξώφυλλα, 8vo (18 εκ. Χ 13,5 εκ.). FROM CAPTIVITY ACCORDING TO THE DIARY OF THE CAPTAIN AIRMAN B.K. AUGERIS MARKOS (GIORGOS N. PAPADOPOULOS) FIRST EDITION. B.[asilis] K.[otrotsos], printed by P.G. Makris, in Athens 1923, Pages 246 +2. Paper covers, 8vo (18cm x 13.5cm). B.K. he was a Captain in the Air Force and was captured by the Turks. This is his captivity diary, edited by Markos Augeris. The initials of his name are not one hundred percent certain that they belong to Vassilis Kotrotsos. It's the most likely scenario. Another hypothesis is that it was also about Karystinos Vasilios, Captain and the one who was also captured by the Turks at exactly the same time. For about eighty years this remarkable book remained unsigned. It was released in 1923, a year after the Asia Minor Catastrophe, and the following year it had a second edition, as it narrated in literary writing, in the form of a diary, the shocking adventure of a Greek officer in the depths of Anatolia. He described the detention conditions of the prisoners in Denizli, Dinar, Ak Sehir, Iconium, Caesarea. It revealed the harsh aspects of war. He unleashed harsh criticism against the culprits and, at the same time, vigorously expressed the skepticism and concern of Greek society. Extremely Rare!
