Description: 1911 C55 Imperial Tobacco #27 Walter Smail -- SGC 5.5 Hand on Stick. No dot/period variation. Graded Excellent+ 5.5 by SGC. Qualities include white borders, superb centering, and fantastic color. The period after "1911" on the reverse side is missing. Based on a survey of all publicly sold examples over the last decade, we would estimate this variation is at least 1.5 times more difficult to find than the variety with the period/dot. It is likely that the omission of the period was corrected sometime early in the print run. Walter Smaill is featured here on his rookie card with the Montreal Wanderers. Smaill was a star left/right winger and defenceman for a variety of teams during his 16 professional seasons. Was also a member of the 1908 Montreal Wanderers' and 1910 Ottawa Senators' Stanley Cup Championship teams.
