Description: This vintage 1909 Sporting News Supplement features a portrait of John I. Taylor, former owner of the Boston Red Sox. The M101-2 card is an original piece and a great addition to any sports memorabilia collection. The card showcases John Taylor who was the owner of the Boston Americans (Red Sox) from 1904-1911, and part owner afterwards. The Red Sox won 4 World Series in the teens and defeated the Pirates in the 1st World Series in 1903. John Taylor’s family also owned the Boston Globe newspaper co. During this time. The supplement is a unique publication that belongs to the category of vintage sports memorabilia and is a must-have for collectors. This very SCARCE card is 8x10” and has minimal wear and tear for its age. Have not seen this card offered before, he wasn’t as popular as Ty Cobb or Honus Wagner making Taylor a “tough” find if you’re doing the whole set, plus this card should get a high grade if sent to PSA. Great card for the serious Boston Red Sox fan.
