Description: This auction is for an interesting piece . This piece was patented and copyrighted July 14th 1896 and was given compliments of Sam Loyd. It was a supplement to the Sunday N.Y Journel . It is titled “ Get Off The Earth Puzzle Mystery “. Puzzle is a cardboard piece with a center globe . There are 13 Chinese Men all around globe circumference . When you move the button up and count again there are only 12. One has to figure out with the missing man went . If one could solve the puzzle correctly you would get a new Columbia Bicycle from Mr. Loyd himself as stated on puzzle bottom . This puzzle measures 6 3/4 x 6 3/4 . Puzzle does work - if you move the globe man disappears . Condition is good for age . There is a large crease in lower right bottom corner and a smaller bend in upper left .
