Description: 1893 Chicago Worlds FairThe Ferris WheelAdvertising Paperweight This is a nice, heavy glass advertising paperweight featuring The Ferris Wheel of the 1893 Worlds Fair held at Chicago, IL. Sometimes called the Chicago Wheel, the ferris wheel was designed and built by George Washington Gale Ferris as the centerpiece for the 1893 Wolds Columbian Exposition. This original design has been used over the years as a pattern for other ferris wheels. The wheel was the keystone attraction of the Expositiong at 264 feet tall. It is in good, solid condition with no cracks or chips. The glass has good clarity. The litho background shows wear especially of the blue sky. The litho of the wheel shows good detail.
