Description: 1890 Holy Bible by AJ Holman- fantastic rare antique family bible! It contains the complete old and new testament and is a parallel pronouncing edition. There are MANY beautiful illustrations, maps, etc. I took some pictures of example illustrations- many have gold gilt highlights. There are pages for recording marriages, births, deaths and for family photos to be inserted. It is completely unused. The cover is brown leather (or leatherette- I'm not sure) with stylized "Holy Bible" in gold and botanical design in the leather. The spine is decorated similarly. The page edges have gold gilt and the spine ends have a woven red and gold detail. This is a huge 15lb bible, measures approx 13" H x 11" W x 5" deep. The overall condition is excellent other than the front cover is separated from the rest of the book. The front cover has an attached cover page. This would likely be an easy repair for those who know how. The covers and spine otherwise have some wear as seen in the pictures. The pages are all intact. there is a small piece of tape on the first and third pages near the bottom- both are shown in the pictures. There ais a minor 1/4" tear on the bottom of the page that says "Presented To". The 2 first cover pages have a crease on them. I am trying to be complete in my description and have taken pictures of anything that shows wear.
