Description: This is a unique item not seen often. This piece was done by Irvine Lavrene(IL), which then became Lavrene & Lavrene(L&L) Jewelers. I don't know that actual spelling of the last name of the artist. This was info that was shared via a local jeweler here in Alaska. The coin in the center is an 1885 Double Eagle, the mint mark cannot be seen in the current setting. It is believed to be an 1885-S. The gentleman I purchased from had this made for himself around 30 years ago and never used it. The money clip itself is 14k and in excellent shape, light surface scratches that could be easily buffed out. The total piece weighs 59 grams (pictured).Double Eagle Coins weigh 33.44 grams. The clip itself should be about 25.56grams.
