Description: I have tried to find the origin of this miniature copy of the first LIFE magazine- I have found it described as a salesman sample by several people, and also as a special issue from the 1950's, with no further details describing how or where it was issued. So I don't want to be misleading in any capacity, but this is what I can tell you: This is a miniature copy of the first issue of LIFE magazine Vol 1, #1 from January 4, 1883. It has Twelve pages plus covers and a staple binding. This could be a salesman's sample or a special reproduction issue from the publishing company. Originally published by Henry Holt and Co. in New York. Measurements : 4.5" x 3.5" Back cover has a stain on it that can be seen from inside page. Ink and printing are still strong throughout. Dc471
