Description: This 152 year old book shows signs of use and general storage wear. The covers along the edges and the spine shown signs of sunning with corner and edge bumps. There are signs of foxing here and there but not in great quantity. A picture above shows some pages having black dots which I have no explanation for / possibly part of the printing process. A photo also shows some page edge chipping. Still not bad for this old of a book.
One of the more famous and collectible early books on California travel and history. This one takes place from travelling on The Union Pacific Railroad Pullman Palace Car , starting at the Cliff House , SF as far south as Yosemite and ending in Coulterville / mainly Northern California.
Published by Harper & Brothers with 255 pages with RR ads at the back / an unstated First Edition with the year appearing twice: on the title page and the copyright page.
